As a teenager I've learned about life and death and about making an informed decision...Worst experience ever. Brought a budgie in due to being sick and was given Baytril. Was taken home with a syringe to put the medicine into her beak twice a day for seven days and if sick were to put her down no other option. The following day she was really sick and couldn't move stretch and breathe. We had to put her down... as we were in a room with two people that were watching us say our good bye's we had been told that we were not allowed to be right by her side... I was astonished that we could not be alone to say good bye and to be right by her side when any other vet would allow that and give u that time... after being put down she was wrapped up with paper and was just basically dropped down in the box she came in with no respect when we changed our minds to leave her there... Two days later we took our other two budgies to an avian vet and spoke about the death of our budgie and that if we took her she would have been in placed in intensive care yet at the vet lounge it was not an option and as a result our baby girl did not stand a chance and we were slugged $117 and then a day later $27.60 to put her asleep. Before we took her in we were told they take care of birds however according to the avian vet they didn't care for her properly. If u decide to take your bird to a vet I suggest an avian vet whom specialises specifically with birds.
